Councillors

I have lived in Breadsall with my husband for 56 years. Our three children all attended the village school.

I have always been active in village life having run the first playgroup (then held in the scout hut) and been on the Memorial Hall management committee for around 50 years helping to raise funds for the maintenance and extension of the Hall.

I have served on the Parish Council twice with a short break in between. My aim is to try, with other members of the PC, to represent the feelings and interests of the community and to maintain Breadsall as a village with its semi-rural beauty and prevent the village being overtaken by the threatening urbanisation.

I was born in Derbyshire and have lived in Breadsall for the last 43 years, most of my married life. My daughter attended our local village school.

Now retired, I was an architect practicing for the last 20 years in Derby.

I am a founder member of Breadsall Bowls Club and still play regularly for our various teams, who knows I may even get good at it one day!

My hope as a Parish Councillor is to keep Breadsall as a vibrant village with its own identity, keeping and expanding on what it does well, while resisting the pressures to suburbanise it as a mere adjunct to neighbouring Derby.
