2025/26 EBC Budget Survey

Local Authorities (Councils) across Derbyshire and throughout the country have received their funding allocation from the Government and are now preparing and consulting on their budgets and Erewash are doing the same.

Delivering all the services residents want and expect with limited funding is becoming increasingly difficult and many Councils are struggling to set a budget. The Local Government  Association have completed a survey and have reported that 1 in 4 Councils say they are likely to have to apply for emergency government bailout agreements to stave off bankruptcy in the next two financial years (2025/26 and 2026/27). Erewash is not in this position but the medium-term projections mean savings will need to be made.

This consultation contains some information about our budget and provides an opportunity for residents to provide feedback.
